What is PTP?
Over the course of his 30-year career as a teacher in the Toronto school system, Canadian Pro Drivers founder John Le Feuvre recognized that people learn differently, according to specific variables in their individual personalities. After studying the findings of noted psychologists like David Keirsey, Katherine Briggs and Isabel Briggs-Myers, he discovered that we all fit into one of four broad categories of personality that, in turn, shape the way we learn. John realized he’d hit on something profound: Gear the training to the person being trained.
PTP is a highly successful, proprietary approach to driver training that combines three main elements: Psychological, Theoretical and Practical approaches to teaching. What does that mean? It means we believe driver training begins with an understanding of human behavior and learning that is specific to the individual. Using the findings of clinical psychologists and the Myers-Briggs (MBTI) method, John has developed a set of comprehensive guidelines to driver training that incorporates complex assessments of driving personality with the tenets of learning theory. These guidelines form the method we call PTP.
Energetic and interactive, PTP is a simple and effective way to discover a driver’s strengths, as well as understanding what motivates their driving behavior. Knowledge, experience and a hands-on approach allow us to assess, correct, and embed good driving habits that reduce risk for the individual as well as their employee.
