How does PTP work?

Psychological

Our extensive knowledge of the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator (MBTI) has enabled us to develop a simplified, short-form version for assessing the drivers in each course. We do this by:

  1. Conducting a Myers-Briggs Assessment
  2. Initiating an analysis of the employer and its drivers, specific to workplace and job
  3. Identifying a training type or learning style

Fun and engaging, our method encourages each driver to become aware of how other drivers interpret shared or similar driving situations according to their individual risk assessment.

Theoretical

Building on the results of the psychological assessment, we move the driver into a personalized learning platform. Guided by us, the driver is now in control of how he or she learns. We do this by:

  1. Training with interactive, participatory and activity-based programs
  2. Focusing on the importance of team building
  3. Initiating challenging situational learning
  4. Instilling practical, solution-based learning

Beginning with a study of multiple driving situations, we teach the driver to “think and drive”, anticipating that other drivers’ reactions will differ from their own, to effectively avoid distractions and reduce risk. We combine an interactive presentation with group exploration methodology to illustrate how each driver in the group perceives various traffic situations, concepts and laws.

Practical

Now we get “hands-on.” Once the driver has completed the psychological and theoretical levels of the course, we move toward reality-based training in real road situations – specific skill training like safer reversing, vehicle-specific maneuvers or skid prevention. The practical component is comprised of:

  1. Vehicle-specific instruction
  2. Collision-specific solutions
  3. Driving situation-specific instruction

We employ a “group training” method to ensure high levels of engagement as well as greater learning outcomes in a shorter period of time, an approach that allows us to keep costs low while delivering better results.
