Hands-On Training

CPD specializes in learning-outcome based educational principles. We understand that everyone learns differently and the most effective way to teach people is by combining the three major learning styles of visual, auditory and hands-on.  Matching the learning style to the learner creates the most efficient and effective training and allows the learner to make the changes necessary to mitigate their risk of collision while driving.

As educators and subject-matter specialists we are also versed in the best methodology to teach individual learning styles. That allows our trainers to create student-specific training methodologies based on sound principles of learning. This makes training more cost-effective and more successful in a shorter period of time.

Understanding that adult learners are busy with work and lifestyle, – and may have a shorter attention span – allows us to create great modular training programs that engage these learners and involve them in their own learning.  This methodology has proven very successful for both our hands-on training solutions and our web-based training programs. When hands-on and web are combined they are doubly effective, providing the learner with a greater opportunity to make a significant change in behaviour, that will lead to lasting change.

CPD creates programs with a low student-to-teacher ratio, and is known for creating involvement and intensity in the learning process. We couple this training with vehicle-specific training for the greatest impact.

Our best program combines hands-on training specific vehicles with our pulse training method for providing individualized web-based training that lets the student learn at a pace that is set by their individual or company. Employers can follow their results and maintain a complete database of all their drivers involved in the driver training programs. Monthly or yearly reviews can be carried to track the progress provided by CPD.
